HKS versus GReddy Toyota GR86 concept car
Since Toyota GR 86 made its global debut in Japan, tuning companies start to develop products for the new generations of sports car. At the recent Fuji 86 Style with BRZ 2021 event held at the Fuji Speedway on summer, HKS presented its aftermarket options on a demo car called the GR 86 HKS Concept, at the same time rival tuner company,GReddy had its own version of the new Toyota GR 86.
Aside for both cars being beautiful, let’s see what the two companies came up with. HKS main attraction was the GT2 supercharger system, which is supposed to make a lot more power than the stock 2.4 litre naturally-aspirated flat-four engine. With forced induction, HKS claims and increase to 340 PS, where the stock motor is only 235 PS. To handle the extra power, HKS placed under the hood, a mastery engine control unit and LA twin-plate clutch for the six-speed manual transmission. HKS naturally set for aesthetic and aerodynamic purposes and HKS body kit that adds on a front spoiler lip, side skirts and a rear under spoiler.
On the other side GReddy decide not to reveal yet any technical specifications. What we know though is that under there, there is affixed to the new 2.4 litre direct-injected flat four,a T620Z RX turbocharger,a modified version of the one offered for the previous 86 and Subaru BRZ. Which of course It will be more powerful than the stock one, that’s because the T620 already provides a boost of 94 wheel horsepower to the previous 86. Supporting this engine couldn’t be no one else other than GReddy’s oil filter,a Sirius Unify Boost gauge where drivers can monitor the turbo’s operation. A Power Extreme 3 exhaust muffler. Also GReddy’s GR86 it has a carbon fibre bodykit from Voltex.
Both companies aim to sell these new products for the GR86 and for the twin brother Subaru BRZ. But still GReddy and HKS have not reveal the pricing on these products yet.
